Wander Travels aims to automate the initial steps of booking vacations. This is done by offering recommendations of destinations that align with people’s unique interests and needs. We are in the process of collecting quantitative and qualitative data through research, surveys and market interviews to help shape the features of this service. The end goal is to help travellers to book travel based on their preference data in a timely and cost efficient manner.
The pandemic has emphasized the shift towards working and learning remotely. This has opened up the opportunity for people worldwide to relocate, study abroad, or simply free more time to travel. When making a decision about where to travel, there are many factors that come into play such as budget, culture, languages, weather, etc. The Wander platform will enable people to input their data and receive unique travel recommendations that align with their wants and needs.
The biggest obstacle thus far has been to dedicate time in order to accelerate the market research and testing phase. I’m looking forward to start the iteration phase, which I’m sure will bring its own set of challenges when it comes to the technology behind the idea.
The biggest success thus far would be the idea validation received by winning the Ignite grant and getting positive feedback from our potential customers.
